I approach drawing with a rash spirit of exploration - trying to stay with the essence and the truthful scribble without selling out to the lure of something "finished". Drawing is part of the process of making and I integrate it into my three dimensional work as much as possible.
Any media or surface can be useful. Drawings may be sewn, layered, fretted out of wood, pierced or stamped from rubber. Some are abstracted from drawings of old toys and teacups, or fragments of lettering.
